Environment and Biodiversity
NBTE – Rondônia Reforestation Program – Bom Futuro National Forest
The Reforestation Program in the Bom Futuro National Forest aims to restore degraded areas, promote biodiversity, and enhance environmental services. This initiative was developed as a compensatory measure required by IBAMA to comply with the Operating License for the Porto Velho – Araraquara 2 Transmission Line, mitigating the impacts of vegetation removal.
Key Objectives of the Project
Restore 72 hectares through the planting of native species suitable for the Amazon biome.
Ensure a minimum survival rate of 90% for the planted seedlings.
Promote natural regeneration and sustainably increase vegetation cover.
Results Achieved
Execution Period: 2017 to 2021

Restored area: 73.6 hectares, surpassing the initial goal.

Total seedlings planted: 82,158.

Current projection (including natural regeneration): 88,862 regenerated seedlings, totaling 171,020 individuals.
Project Phases
Mobilization (2017):
- Preparation of the team and infrastructure for planting.
Implementation (2017 to 2019):
- Digging holes and planting seedlings.
- Planting 81,689 seedlings during the rainy season in the Amazon region.
Maintenance (2018 to 2019):
- Post-planting irrigation and combating competing vegetation.
- Top dressing fertilization and monitoring of growth.
Seedling Survival and Growth Rates
- Monitoring indicated 108.5% regeneration, with over 6,507 surplus seedlings.
- Satisfactory growth, with a height increase of over 881%, reaching an average height of 5.5m in two years.
Positive Impact
The project contributed to strengthening local biodiversity, promoting the recovery of ecosystem services, and reinforcing Evoltz’s commitment to environmental conservation.
