MTE – AM Reforestation Program

The Reforestation Project at Fazenda Aruanã was developed to meet the requirements set by IBAMA (process no. 02001-003938/2008-62). This initiative includes the recovery of 292.3 hectares, covering permanent preservation areas, roads, and internal firebreaks. Additionally, 15,000 seedlings were planted to ensure a positive environmental impact in the region.

Key Objectives

Restore a total area of 292.3 hectares, including 254 hectares of degraded vegetation.

Reforest areas with native species such as Brazil nut (Bertholletia excelsa) and tachibana (Tachigali vulgaris).

Achieve 100% canopy coverage on the soil, with growth indicators within the ideal range.

Results Achieved

Execution Period: 2017 to 2019

Total restored area: 292.3 hectares, surpassing initial goals.

Positive environmental indicators: Growth in height, diameter at breast height (DBH), and basal area of the seedlings within the ideal range.

Successful planting with native species, ensuring the restoration of the Amazon biome and promoting sustainability.
